Ingredients
  • 1 White Grapefruit
  • 1 Cabbage Leaf20x15cm/8"x6"
  • 30-40g Broccolisubstitute: baby spinach
  • 30g Celery Stalk
  • 1/4 Avocado
  • 1/2tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 100ml Water
  • 5-6 Ice Cubes

Instructions
  1. First, cut off the top and bottom of the grapefruit. The cuts should be just enough to reach the flesh.
  2. Turn the grapefruit so that one of the cuts is facing up. Cut down the rind by following the curve of the flesh and then turn the grapefruit. Continue removing the peel all the way around the fruit.
  3. Slice off the remaining white pith.
  4. Then, quarter the grapefruit from top to bottom. Trim off the center core of the wedges.
  5. Cut each quarter wedge in half.
  6. Place the grapefruit into a blender. Be sure to put the grapefruit in the blender first otherwise the mixture may not contact the blades.
  7. Next, cut the cabbage leaf into small pieces. One of the great benefits of cabbage is cancer prevention.
  8. The broccoli also has anti-cancer nutrients.
  9. As for the celery stalk, slice it into about 2cm (0.8") pieces.
  10. Add the vegetables in the blender.
  11. Avocados are great anti aging food and they will help in maintaining your beautiful skin. Add the lemon juice.
  12. Add the water to adjust the consistency and help to blend the mixture.
  13. Add the 5 to 6 ice cubes. Be sure to use a blender that is capable of crushing ice.
  14. Cover and pulse several times.
  15. Then, blend the vegetables until smooth. Now, it is ready.
  16. Pour it into a glass and enjoy the healthy green smoothie!
Recipe Notes
  • This is refreshing and delicious on its own but if it isn't sweet enough, you can add ripe bananas to make it easier to drink.
  • You can add honey or soy milk to taste, and should also try other fruit or vegetables in this recipe.
