We are making very nostalgic Milkshake also known as Milk Seki in Japan. It brings back my childhood memories. I enjoyed the drink while thinking how sweet, cold and delicious it was. We will be making a slightly different version of the classic recipe to add a modern taste.

Ingredients
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 1 Egg Yolk be sure to use a fresh egg or pasteurized egg
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Ripe Banana sliced
  • 1/2 tbsp Syrup or honey
  • 3 Ice Cubes
  • Cinnamon Powder optional
  • Granola optional
* 1 tablespoon (tbsp) = 15 ml, 1 teaspoon (tsp) = 5 ml

  1. Let’s make the milk seki. In a blender, combine the milk, fresh egg yolk, vanilla extract, sliced banana and your favorite type of syrup.

Recipe Notes

This is best served cold during the hot season and it's great for post workout nutrition.
Make sure to use a fresh egg yolk or pasteurized egg.
We used the syrup made from oligo sugar or oligosaccharides, which will help to maintain your digestive health. Honey, maple syrup or your favorite type of sugar can also be used instead.
